Child Welfare Project Coordinator

12 month contract; Full-time; 35 hours per week

Salary: $74,000 to 99,000 based on experience

About The Role

The Child Welfare Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of, developing systems for and monitoring various child welfare projects within the Agency. Working with internal and external stakeholders and partners, the Coordinator will lead internal project committees and represent the Agency on relevant external committees.

Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate the implementation of and monitor Child Welfare related areas of service, including:

    • Assist with the implementation and monitoring of Ministry Directives, Legislation changes and Regulations.

    • Represent on internal and external child welfare committees, community tables and working groups.

    • Provide regular updates on sector developments and changes in services provided by community partners.

    • Review protocols (interagency) to assess impact on the Agency’s child welfare practice.

    • Support the Child Welfare program through the implementation of child welfare modernization.

    • Collaborate with IT and Research & Evaluation to ensure that JF&CS is able to comply with reporting agency data with respect to the MCYS Performance Indicators. 

    • Assist with reviewing and updating Agency policies and organizational standards.

  • Provide administration and coordinating support in relation to other multi-service cases as needed.

  • Assist other staff with cross-organizational efforts, including mentoring.

  • Maintain positive relationships with staff in agency and other community agencies/resources; networking with related professional organizations.

  • Represent the Agency’s mission, vision and values in the community.

  • Has an understanding and commitment to the Agency’s Research and Evaluation program.

  • Perform other duties as assigned, including Case Management (child protection).

 

Qualifications:

  • MSW

  • 5 plus years of experience in child welfare.

  • Member of OCSWSSW in good standing.

  • Valid Driver’s License is required.

  • Knowledge of ministry guidelines, rights of children and the Extended Society Care Review.

  • Working knowledge of the Child, Youth & Family Services Act.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.

  • Comprehension of French or another language will be considered an asset.
