Big Brothers / Big Sisters

Be a friend and role model to a Jewish child or youth by providing support, companionship and friendship.

Must be 19 years of age or older.

1-2 visits per month for a minimum of a year

Donation Box

Donations Drop-Off Driver Volunteer

Drive and deliver donations, such as Grief Support Kits, Food Boxes, Gift Cards, to agency’s clients homes.

Must be 19 years of age or older.

Individual donation drop-off deliveries will vary with each project

FRC Drop-in Assistant

 

Provide support to Family Resource Centre staff and families by assisting with drop-in activities (arts & crafts, music, cleaning toys, etc.).

Must be post-secondary age or older.

3 hours per week for a minimum of 3 months

Conversation Cafe Team Lead at the FRC

​To provide volunteer leadership in supporting weekly English conversation practice group for adults and seniors.

Must be post-secondary age or older.

​Help adults and seniors practice conversational English in an informal and welcoming setting. Teach them about Canadian culture and community resources.

Tutoring Session

Homework Club Tutor at the FRC

ONLINE

 

Provide homework help for students in grade 4 and up. Tuesdays helping high school students or Wednesdays helping elementary school students. 

Must be in Grade 11 or older. 

Tuesdays or Wednesdays, 5:45pm-7:45pm during the school year

Woman Tutoring Child

In Class Tutor at the JDD

​Provide in-class tutoring to youth at the Jerome D. Diamond Adolescent Centre under the supervision of a TDSB teacher. 

Must be post-secondary age or older.

1-2 hours per week for the school year

Old and Young

Café Europa Volunteer at the Bernard Betel Centre

​To provide support at Café Europa, a monthly, social and cultural get-together for Holocaust survivors, by interacting with the Holocaust Survivors and assisting with registration.

This is a program in partnership with The Bernard Betel Centre.

Mondays, 2 per month. 10:30am-12:30pm

Hospice

Jewish Hospice Volunteer with Circle of Care

Provide support to clients including respite for caregiver, light meal preparation, light shopping, accompaniment to medical appointments and companionship. This is a program in partnership with Circle of Care and Sinai Health System.

Must be post-secondary age or older.
