Manager, Hospice, Grief & Bereavement
12-18 month contract; 35 hours per week, potential evenings
Salary: $90,000 to $105,000 based on experience

About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and skilled individual to join our team as Manager of Hospice, Grief & Bereavement. In this role, you will lead and develop a team of dedicated social workers, ensuring our services reflect the Agency’s mission, vision, and values. This position plays a vital role in supporting the hospice, grief and bereavement programs, while providing clinical supervision to staff.
Responsibilities:

Lead, manage, and develop a strong team of workers with complementary skills in end of life care, trauma informed care and grief and bereavement.

Oversee the ongoing development and maintenance of the Hospice, Grief & Bereavement program.

Identify and actively participate in initiatives impacting Hospice, Grief & Bereavement and crisis response services representing JF&CS, building capacity and presence, within the community.

Oversee the development of a formalized crisis response and stabilization plan for community incidents (death at a school, global events) impacting youth.

Manage the Agency’s Hospice Palliative Care Ontario (HPCO) accreditation submissions and oversee ongoing compliance.

Oversee the development of Grief and Bereavement groups

Establishes partnerships with other agencies, community groups, and stakeholders within the community as well as participate in sector committees as required.

Represent JF&CS in Agency-wide initiatives.

Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
-
Master’s degree in Social Work or equivalent graduate degree in a related field.

Minimum 5 years’ direct experience in Hospice and Bereavement services or related health care service area

Registered and in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).

Knowledge of evidence informed practices in the areas of grief and bereavement, and advanced care planning

Commitment to client-centered care, equity, diversity, inclusion, and trauma-informed service delivery.

Comprehension of Hebrew or Russian will be considered an asset
