Resource Worker
12-18 month contract; Full-time; 35 hours per week, potential evenings
Salary: BSW - $63,000 to $82,000 MSW - $71,000 to $94,000 based on experience

About The Role
We are seeking a Resource Worker who will be responsible for direct counselling and other practical and concrete services to resource families using appropriate techniques and methods of social work practice. The incumbent will also carry out other Resource related activities and administrative tasks as necessary as they pertain to the Resource team.
Responsibilities:​​

Provide individual, family, or group counselling and support to resource families using a range of appropriate methodologies and techniques to best meet client needs.

Assess placement needs of children requiring placement or change of placement.

Complete SAFE assessments, evaluations and approvals of applicants.

Work as a support person for foster, kinship and adoption families.

Complete referrals to external OPR foster and group care placements.

Assist with completing adoptions and/or other permanency measures as needed.

Advocate to achieve permanency for children living with members of the child’s extended family or community.

Maintain current knowledge of legislation and government-prescribed procedures, regulations and standards of all JF&CS programs, including child protection.

Liaise with professional and community staff to provide support services in line with the case management plan.

Represent the Agency’s mission, vision, and values in the community.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:​

Master of Social Work or Bachelor of Social Work
-
2-3 years of related experience in child welfare
-
Registered member of OCSWSSW in good standing
-
Clinical, assessment and/or client service delivery experience required
-
Knowledge of CPIN (Child Protection Information Network) and other data management systems is a strong asset
-
Working knowledge of the Child Youth and Family Services Act in Ontario
-
Comprehension of French or another language will be considered an asset
