Office Support – Holocaust Survivor Services (Russian Speaking)

Salary: $17 per hour; 3 month contract

Jewish Family and Child Service is a multi-service, client-centered agency, and a Children’s Aid Society supporting the healthy development of individuals, children, and families.  

Due to the current pandemic environment, this position is currently working remotely.


We are seeking an Office Support – Holocaust Survivor Services to provide intake and administrative support to the Holocaust Survivor Services Team. This position includes a combination of direct service activities and administrative support duties: providing administrative support to the Holocaust Survivor Services intake line, routing inquiries, collecting and processing and client documents, working with clients as a support to the intake function, as well as the day-to-day administrative support duties.  



  • Screen all inquiries for service; flags emergent issues for HSS Intake/social work staff and Manager

  • Ensure all calls are logged and tracked in the case management system.

  • Open new HSS assessments on the case management system from an administrative perspective

  • Process new assessments as per workflow, log and route calls

  • Contact clients to acknowledge new inquires and receipt of new/additional documents and create contact notes on the Agency’s case management system.

  • Collect, scans, and upload documents into client’s file on Agency case management system.

  • Provide administrative support including scheduling meetings, minute taking, etc.

  • Provide administrative supporting for HSS Committees and interagency  meetings

  • Compile, input and prepare statistical data in support of the Holocaust Survivor programs, services, partnerships, and funding applications

  • Perform other duties as assigned.



  • Must be between the 18 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.

  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.

  • Post-Secondary degree/diploma in an Office Administration, Social Work, and/or Social Science related program. 

  • Related experience in social services or working with a community agency.

  • Fluency in verbal Russian is required; ability to read and write in Russian is an asset.

  • High Proficiency in Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).

  • Working knowledge of office equipment such as Scanners, photocopiers, fax, etc.
