Office Support - Family Services 

Full-time; 35 hours work week |  12 month contract 

$47,000 – $59,000 based on experience and credentials


Jewish Family and Child Service is a multi-service, client-centered agency, and a Children’s Aid Society supporting the healthy development of individuals, children, and families. We are seeking an Office Support – Family Services to provide administrative support to the Family Services Team. The successful candidate will compile statistics, generate reports, complete minutes for various committees and working groups, and provide information to internal and external stakeholders. Due to the current pandemic environment, this position is currently working remotely with the occasional requirement to work in office to complete tasks.  



  • Provide administrative support for the Family Services Managers which may include screening phone calls, scheduling meetings and appointments, and other administrative tasks as needed.

  • Participate in the development of agendas for meetings, preparation, and distribution of meeting agendas and minutes.

  • Compile, input, prepare, and analyze statistical data for family service programs.   

  • Assist managers with compiling program statistics, generating reports and preparing manuals and presentations as required.

  • Arrange client appointments for Furniture Bank, the Alpha Omega Dental program, and JVS.

  • Coordinate the agency’s Bed program.

  • Support holiday initiatives and other delivery processes.

  • Liaise between Synagogues / Community organizations and Agency staff to help clients access High Holiday tickets, Community Seders, and Passover. 

  • Perform a variety of general administrative duties in support of the Agency’s programs and teams. 

  • Organize, maintain and coordinate office records and files in their proper electronic and physical locations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.



  • Post-Secondary degree/diploma in an Office Administration, Social Work, and/or Social Science related program.

  • 2 years of related experience in social services or working with a community agency.  

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

  • Experience using complex database systems, management systems, and/or CMS systems. 

  • Working knowledge of office equipment such as scanners, photocopiers, fax etc. 

  • Comprehension of French or another language reflecting the local community will be considered an asset
