Human Resources Administrator

Maternity leave contract; 12-18 months

Salary: $50,000 – $60,000

Jewish Family and Child Service is a multi-service, client-centered agency, and a Children’s Aid Society supporting the healthy development of individuals, children, and families. We are seeking a Human Resources Administrator who will be responsible for a full range of human resources services with a focus on recruitment and selection, training and development, and human resources information systems (HRIS) administration support. This is a non-union position, due to the current pandemic environment this position is currently working remotely and is occasionally required to work from our offices. 



  • Coorindate the full recruitment cycle: prescreening, setting up interviews, references and criminal and vulnerable police checks, etc.

  • Onboard new employees and assist with virtual/in-person new hire orientation sessions

  • Ensure HRIS (Workforce Now) is up to date and maintained, this includes ensuring records are current, accurate and respect all privacy legislation

  • Maintain the Recruitment module on Workforce Now

  • Maintain the Professional Development program at the Agency. This includes providing information to staff, processing PD requests and submitting to Accounting for reimbursement, tracking PD requests and approvals

  • Maintain the New Worker Authorization process by OACAS. This includes obtaining training dates, ensuring enrollment of new workers, proctoring of the final ACE exam.

  • Provide support in the interpretation of the collective agreement, HR policies and procedures while ensure consistent application across the Agency.

  • Assist employee with requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations

  • Represent the Agency’s mission, vision, and values in the community

  • Perform other duties as assigned



  • Undergraduate degree or post-secondary diploma in human resources or related field.

  • 3 years of relevant experience in a Human Resources field.

  • Obtained or working towards CHRP designation.

  • Strong skills using Microsoft Office and other HRIS (ADP Workforce Now experience will be considered an asset).

  • In-depth understanding of recruitment tools such as resume databases and online communities.

  • Willing to take initiative and work independently when needed.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Comprehension of French or another language will be considered an asset
