Research & Evaluation

The Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) philosophy at Jewish Family & Child (JF&CS) is focused on ensuring that our Agency is continually striving toward delivering the highest quality and most efficient services so that our service users can achieve the best possible outcomes.

The overall PQI structure at JF&CS is guided by our three strategic service priority areas: Safety and Security; Poverty Reduction; and Mental Health and Wellness. Our PQI program is built on an approach that is useful (to all involved stakeholders), collaborative and comprehensive; that cuts across our service priority areas; and that encompasses a broad range of evaluation activities and mandated responsibilities, such as:

  • Measuring the achievement of long-term strategic goals and objectives

  • Assessing the effectiveness of management and operations

  • Maintaining accreditation standing with the Council on Accreditation, Hospice Palliative Care Ontario

  • Undertaking needs assessments and program evaluations

  • Measuring service user outcomes

JF&CS’s Research and Evaluation team helps prioritize the above activities, and supports the overall implementation of JF&CS’s PQI program through the following core functions:

  • Outreach to and engagement with stakeholders to ensure the quality and appropriate resourcing of services

  • Assisting JF&CS program areas and service teams to achieve Centre of Excellence standards

  • Maintaining JF&CS accreditation standing with the Council on Accreditation and meeting Ministries’ requirements through scheduled and ad hoc reporting

  • Ensuring the quality of services through quality assurance activities
