On-Call Family Drop-In Program Facilitator
21-35 hours per week; Contract On-Call
Jewish Family and Child Service is a multi-service, client-centered agency, and a Children’s Aid Society supporting the healthy development of individuals, children, and families. We are seeking an On-Call Program Facilitator to assist in our Family Drop-In Program at our Family Resource Centre (FRC). This program provides support for parents, caregivers, and young children aged 0-5 years by encouraging opportunities for community participation and inclusive social interaction.

Responsibilities:

Assist in the planning of daily craft activities and music circles.

Assist in delivering activities that enhance the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth of children in a fun, play-based environment.

Undertake housekeeping duties such as cleaning and disinfecting toys, washing equipment, etc.

Prepare materials for scheduled programming including photocopying, researching, etc.

Support FRC visitors by providing appropriate Agency referrals and information about self-care practices for parents, child development and healthy family relationships.

Perform front desk responsibilities such as greeting families, signing in visitors, registration, attendance, etc. as required. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-
Post-secondary education in Social Service, Early Childhood Education, or equivalent
-
1-2 years of experience working with children and/or parent and caregivers
-
CPR/First Aid with AED Certificate
-
Experience working with diverse communities and cultures
-
Knowledge of Jewish values, culture, community needs and resources
-
Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings
-
Dynamic individual with the ability to multitask
-
Fluency in French/Russian/Hebrew will be considered an asset
