Accounting Intern
$14.35 per hour; Full time; 3 month contract
We are seeking an Accounting Intern to assist the Accounting team with various administrative tasks at our 4600 Bathurst Street location.

Responsibilities:

Assist staff with scanning, organizing, and preparing documents to download and print from a case management system.

Update payment information on case management system.

Maintain accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for all accounting activities.

Organize and maintain proper record filing using DocLink.
-
Administer and manage inbound/outbound mail, including priority post, packages, courier services and other correspondence.

Maintain stock area in clean and presentable manner; ensure adequate level of office supplies.

Guide and monitor personnel from the shredding company around the office during designated pick up dates.

Ensure the strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records as they relate to the organization and its business partners.

Adhere to Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) to protect service recipients’ privacy and establish rules for the collection, use and disclosure of personal information of individuals while facilitating the effective provision of service.

Provide backup to reception as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-
Some post-secondary education, preferably in the area of Office Administration/ Accounting.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), knowledge of Access and database programs, and knowledge of office equipment such as fax, photocopiers, etc.

Must be a team player, detail oriented and organized

Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.

Prioritize work load according to ever changing deadlines.
