Social Work Student Placements

Jewish Family & Child has a proud record of inviting Social Work students to fulfill their degree requirement internship with the Agency. For more than 30 years, JF&CS has accepted between four and six students each year from the Social Work faculties of such schools as York University, the University of Toronto, Laurier University, Yeshiva University’s Wurtzweiler College, Ryerson University and several community colleges.

Interns spend their academic year carrying a case load, under the supervision of JF&CS staff. They are trained for intake duties and other direct service functions, in addition to having the opportunity to co-lead the Agency groups and workshops, including Jewish Family Life Education Groups.
