Jewish Hospice Program

Compassionate care and support for you and your family

The Jewish Hospice Program is a program of compassionate home-centred care that addresses the suffering of people coping with life-threatening illness, and provides support to their families. With the goal of improving the patient's quality of life, we address the many psychological, social and spiritual concerns that accompany such an illness.

Our team is coordinated by a social worker and includes doctors, Chaplains, a volunteer coordinator and trained hospice volunteers.

The Jewish Hospice Program can provide:

  • connection to and identification with the Jewish community
  • a team that is sensitive to religious and spiritual traditions
  • Rabbinic counselling, consultation and visitation
  • professional social work services for you and your family
We offer:
  • links and advocacy with community resources and institutions
  • counselling and emotional support for you and your family, including children and teens
  • working with your physicians to complement their efforts
  • assistance with the activities of daily living
  • spiritual care in coordination with your own religious network
  • bereavement counselling
  • education to community and professional groups
