Direct Service Volunteers

Big Brothers and Big Sisters ("Bigs and Littles") are important friends and role models for Jewish children
Tutors help students one-to-one in their homes, at one of our Homework Clubs, or at the Jerome D. Diamond Adolescent Centre improve in their schoolwork
Drivers take children in Foster Care to appointments with doctors, social workers or to meetings with their parents
Friendly Visitors spend time with people who are socially isolated
Café Europa volunteers host Holocaust survivors each month for social and cultural programming, over lunch at the Bernard Betel Centre for Creative Living. This unique celebration of life and survival is a partnership between JF&CS and the Betel Centre.

Chaplaincy Services

Chaplaincy volunteers visit Jewish residents of health care facilities, seniors’ residences, and correctional institutions. Additional Volunteer Opportunities

Special Events volunteers work on committees coordinating events for our children in Foster Care
Just a Second Shop merchandise assistants prepare donated clothing and other items for sale in our retail shop
Family Resource Centre assistants help with a variety of tasks at our drop-in centre for young families at the Promenade Mall
