ACCOUNTING CLERK

Jewish Family & Child is seeking an accounting clerk.

In this role you will…

  • Responsible for full cycle accounts payable, accounts receivable processing, invoice processing, data entry and statistical reporting
  • Check processing for general payables, child service, financial assistance payments and trust requisitions, etc.
  • Processing of bank deposits, donations, client invoices
  • General office duties such as mail, fax, couriers
  • Telephone and switchboard relief coverage
  • Other duties as assigned

The successful candidate will have:
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in an Accounting related program
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an Accounting related position
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in Excel
  • Experience in AccPac would be considered a strong asset
  • Must be a team player and detailed oriented
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task while adhering to strict timelines



EVENING RECEPTIONIST

We are seeking an Evening Receptionist for our Main Branch, the Gordon S. Wolfe Branch and the Jerome D. Diamond Centre (JDD). We are looking for a reliable student who can provide evening coverage. The ideal candidate must be able to multi-task and have knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office. Duties would include answering switchboard, greeting clients and maintaining the reception area. This opening is for you; if you are a University/College student looking to provide assistance and learn more about our organization.
The branch locations that require assistance are:

Main Branch | 4600 Bathurst Street, Toronto

Gordon S. Wolfe Branch | 35 Madison Ave, Toronto

Jerome D. Diamond Adolescent Centre | 196 Keewatin Ave, Toronto



LONG-TERM FOSTER CARE PRACTITIONERS

Jewish Family & Child is seeking full time Foster Care Practitioners to provide long-term homes to Jewish children with complex needs, from 0-16 years of age.

Foster Care Practitioners are needed for children with:
  • complex special needs including physical challenges
  • behaviours that require a high skill level to manage on a daily basis

Demonstrated Experience/Qualifications
  • fostering experience (either private or through a Children’s Aid Society)
  • proficiency in child development/behaviour management techniques
  • experience with special needs children

Special consideration will be given to child & youth workers, early childhood education specialists, teachers, social workers, psychologists, et al.

FOSTER FAMILIES NEEDED

Anyone in the Jewish community who can open his or her heart and home to a child in need and work as part of a team can apply to become a JF&CS Foster Parent.

We are looking for:
  • experienced parents who have already raised a family or who are currently raising a family
  • people with professional skills in child care, social work or education who would like to utilize those skills, while at home

Jewish Family & Child provides our Foster Parents with:
  • orientation and training at the time of joining, as well as continuing education throughout participation in the program
  • support and back-up from qualified JF&CS professionals
  • remuneration to cover the cost of caring for a child

One parent per home must be Jewish. Single parent homes and LGBT homes are welcome.

VOLUNTEER DRIVERS - ONGOING NEED

JF&CS is an Ontario Children's Aid Society. As such, we have a responsibility for all Jewish children in the GTA who are in need of care, protection, and a permanent home.
Our children have urgent transportation needs that we must meet and we rely on the kindness of volunteers to help. When our kids have medical appointments or supervised visits with their families, they need someone to drive them and they need someone they can trust. Make a difference to a child by volunteering your time.

Drivers from all ethnic/religious backgrounds are needed. Flexible hours, a valid Ontario Driver's license and your own vehicle are required.
